Most K9 companies train their K9s inside secure and sterile facilities, where they control all factors such as other odors, sounds, objects, movement, people, etc. This method of training doesn’t properly train and test a K9 in a true working environment, causing the K9 to not produce an effective search once out in the real word. K9s and handlers certified under these sterile conditions are not truly being tested on how effective they are in a working environment.

At Vestige K9, we train and certify all our K9s in real-world environments from Day one, exposing our K9s to all the different odors, sounds, movements, people and any other environmental factors they will or could potentially face on a daily basis. This assures they can and will work through ALL distractors to complete a true and effective search, not missing any possible threat. To effectively motivate our K9s, we at Vestige K9 only use positive reinforcements.
